The Megastructure.
The Megastructure is the series of concentric shells that serves as the weight-supporting frame of the City and the computational substrate of the Netsphere. It is made out of an extremely durable substance, with only a direct blast from a Gravitational Beam Emitter being able to drill through it. Megastructure-embedded computer chips "folded up into the Nth dimension" provide the data storage and processing power necessary to run the Netsphere.[1] The durability of the Megastructure's shells, along with the chaotic architecture throughout, makes it extremely difficult to cross the City's layers. Even then, doing so results in massive Safeguard response.
